Stir Fried Beef and Asparagus Recipe

Yield: 2    Preparation Time:     Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Tender-crisp asparagus mixed with melt-in-your-mouth beef is a true savory dish you can eat alone, with steamed rice or crusted bread.

250g of beef, sukiyaki-style
200g of fresh asparagus, sliced in half, washed and drained
1 medium-sized onion, peeled and chopped
2tbsp of garlic, minced
4tbsp of vegetable oil
3tbsp of liquid seasoning
3 tbsp of soy sauce
Freshly ground black pepper

Recipe Instructions

Marinating the beef

Put the beef in a large bowl. Pour in the soy sauce and liquid seasoning and combine everything using your fingers. Make sure all the meat has been covered with the soy sauce and seasoning. Cover and set aside.

Initial cooking

Pour the vegetable oil in a large pan and once hot, sauté the garlic and onion until translucent. Add the beef including the marinade and stir. Cook for about a minute or two. Transfer the meat onto a plate using a slotted spoon. Cover. Do not turn off the heat.

Cooking the asparagus

Pick the asparagus ends first and put them in the pan where you cooked your beef. Stir a little before pouring in a little water (about 1/8 of a cup). Allow it to simmer for three minutes then, add the asparagus spears. Cook for an additional minute or until the mixture is almost dry. Add the cooked beef into the mixture and stir. Cook for another minute. Turn off heat and transfer on a serving platter. Serve hot.
